As I scroll down their latest selections I&#8217;m always on the watch for <em>patterns that people are making with stitch<\/em>. (Reproduced with permission)<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>They&#8217;re examples illustrating a then-new online painting class  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.laurahornart.com\/blog\/2018\/9\/11\/so-much-more-than-a-new-class\">Australian artist, Laura Horn was announcing <\/a>   However, they <em>could<\/em> have been stitching texture patterns, right at home in the art of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.laurahornart.com\/blog\/2018\/9\/11\/so-much-more-than-a-new-class\">Dorothy Caldwell<\/a> Christine Mauersberger,  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=rieko+koga+artist&amp;tbm=isch&amp;hl=en-GB&amp;chips=q:hand+embroidery+textile+artists+rieko+koga+artist,online_chips:hand+embroidery,online_chips:textile+artists,online_chips:stitches+hand&amp;sa=X&amp;ved=2ahUKEwih5PO04oftAhUUArkGHfGnCKMQ4lYoC3oECAEQJA&amp;biw=1215&amp;bih=564\">Rieko Koga<\/a> and others whose fibre art I admire.  I have found stitch filler patterning in other painters like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?q=artist+agnes+martin&amp;tbm=isch&amp;hl=en-GB&amp;chips=q:paintings+abstract+expressionism+artist+agnes+martin,online_chips:paintings,online_chips:abstract+expressionism,online_chips:minimalism&amp;sa=X&amp;ved=2ahUKEwiMg6KY5IftAhV8AbkGHU5WD5wQ4lYoDXoECAEQJg&amp;biw=1215&amp;bih=564\">Agnes Martin <\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.liammurphy.com.au\/\">Liam Murphy<\/a>, and many contemporary Aboriginal painters.
