{"id":281,"date":"2007-03-17T12:03:00","date_gmt":"2007-03-17T17:03:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/alison.gloderworks.net\/weblog\/?p=281"},"modified":"2007-03-17T12:03:00","modified_gmt":"2007-03-17T17:03:00","slug":"anatomy-of-a-commission-quilted-trimmed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.alisonschwabe.com\/weblog\/?p=281","title":{"rendered":"Anatomy of a Commission &#8211; Quilted, Trimmed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/bp3.blogger.com\/_ZszsUJzUXUE\/Rfwfb7c-zNI\/AAAAAAAAAE4\/skxJ_-SwAjY\/s1600-h\/DSC00005-1.JPG\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_\" style=\"CLEAR: both; FLOAT: left\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.alisonschwabe.com\/weblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/03\/DSC00005-1.jpg?ssl=1\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The quilting is all done,  which took a bit of fiddling around &#8211; the <span style=\"color:#33cc00;\"><em>pearlescent thread<\/em><\/span> would not work without incessant breaking, perhaps it is old thread &#8211; but despite all the known remedies I applied, <span style=\"color:#33cc00;\"><em>it was just not going to work<\/em><\/span>, so, further sampling revealed a fine soft gold thread would work up nicely here, and so that is what I did, about 1\/2 inch separated gently undulating, parallel, lines of machine quilting on this soft gold over the whole quilt.<\/p>\n<p>All this took time in addition to the actual quilting, but the result is always worth the effort of fiddling with samples.
