“Fabrications #1”\u00a0, \u00a03ocm x 30cm,\u00a0 one of a series of framed small <\/em>contemporary patchwork pieces.<\/em><\/p>\n

I have just handed over a group of new small mixed media textile art works to Miguel, my wonderful friend at\u00a0Galeria Los Caracoles<\/a>, San Ignacio, Uruguay, for sale in the coming summer season about to get underway in the southern latitudes.\u00a0 Including the example above, they are in\u00a0several style groups, all of which relate to the much larger\u00a0quilted wall hangings I have been making over the past\u00a0few years.\u00a0 So, from this and\u00a0the examples below, you will see again:-\u00a0piecing\/patchwork pieces, other mixed technique works which include leather and burnt sheer fabrics, glittery thread of course, plus some hand and machine stitch.\u00a0 In addition\u00a0to being ‘small’ ie under 40cm, all are either framed or mounted.\u00a0 My hope is that\u00a0 my collectors, and other textile art lovers\u00a0may consider\u00a0buying them in pairs or groups.\u00a0\u00a0 The “Fabrications” are patchwork pieces, but there are other works, all landascape inspired, that are part of the “Timetracks”\u00a0 series, or “Landlines” or “Tidelines”<\/p>\n

This last one, the black\/gold and sheer group are being called “Landlines”.\u00a0 The sheer surrounds have been burnt, the gold threads a bit clipped\u00a0and they’re\u00a0mounted on cream 20cm\u00a0 pieces. But the final photo (mine)\u00a0 was crappy, so when I do make some more I’ll re-post.\u00a0<\/p>\n

What will the other samples lead to?\u00a0 At this stage, I have no idea… but I like them, I’ll be thinking about them, (which is the main point)\u00a0and in who knows in due course they probably will lead to something, somehow.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
