&#8216;crin&#8217; from southern Chile<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>I bought these delicate little fibre works in Chile several years ago, each is\u00a0approx 3&#8243; x 3&#8243;.\u00a0 I had often seen them at the airport when passing through Santiago, but I found these\u00a0 at a market in southern Chile, Puerto Montt probably, I don&#8217;t fully remember.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve given a few away, and although I have been meaning to wear one sometime, perhaps\u00a0because I knew nothing about them I felt hesitant about wearing one.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Well this morning several things came together.\u00a0 I have no idea where\u00a0it started, but at one point I found myself exploring the work of\u00a0<a title=\"ricardo pulgar\" href=\"http:\/\/walkagallery.blogspot.com\" target=\"_blank\">ricardo pulgar<\/a>\u00a0whose mission is to combine traditional crafts from his region with other materials in a contemporary way, his focus being sculpture and jewellery.\u00a0 In the gallery sections (especially horsehair) \u00a0on this particular site scroll down and\u00a0you will come across several pieces of jewellery incorporating crin plus silver and other\u00a0materials.<\/p>\n<p>I thik it is fascinating how modern makers are linking materials and techniques to each other that a decade or two ago would never been put anywhere near each other.\u00a0 Just as in cuisine, so in artesanias\/handcrafts\u00a0 &#8211;
